E-Beam & Thermal Evaporation
Denton systems support e-beam evaporation for high-end metal oxides, metals, conductive oxides and astronomical films. Denton provides highly densified, ultra-transparent films at world-class standards for UV, IR and visible applications.
Optical sputtering applications include digital Rugate development and ultra-thin filter designs.
Denton Vacuum provides thin film technology for biocompatible PVD coatings—films that are very hard, very adhesive, wear-resistant, inert, low friction and designed not to react with bone, tissue or bodily fluids. These film characteristics make these films extremely well suited for use on medical devices, components and surgical instruments. Additionally, a hydrophilic lubricious coating can help improve patient comfort when applied to such medical devices as catheters, guidewires and other short-term implanted devices.
Other medical coating application provide such benefits as edge retention (surgical instruments stay sharp), reduced galling (stainless parts don’t interact with one another), competitive product differentiation [dark gold (TiN), silver-gold (ZrN) and black (AlTiN, also known as black TiN)]. Coatings applied to medical devices help reduce friction that may minimize irritation and inflammation, formation of scar tissue surrounding implanted devices or encourage the growth of tissues to help the healing process.
