Coatings Process Engineer

Denton Vacuum, the leader in equipment fabrication, located in Moorestown, New Jersey, has an excellent opportunity to join our team as a Coating Process Engineer.

Function:

Develop the quality specifications and operating parameters for all products. To design and develop new products and improve present processes. Assist the Maintenance and Production departments with troubleshooting problems, scheduling preventative maintenance, and installation of new equipment or upgrading of existing equipment.

Job Responsibilities:

• In depth knowledge of sputtering, evaporation, and etching techniques used in industry. Develop and recommend proposals for improved engineering methods, procedures and equipment directed at reducing costs while maintaining quality standards.
• Perform in house and remote acceptance testing on equipment to demonstrate that system manufactured meet customer specifications.
• Write manuals for equipment manufactured.
• Train customers on using the system they have purchased.

Qualifications:

• Degree in engineering as well as two years of thin films / vacuum coating experience in a manufacturing environment. In lieu of a degree, at least two years of related education complimented by five years of thin films / vacuum coating experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge in the operation of Sputter Vacuum Deposition equipment and Magnetic Sputtering Vacuum Deposition equipment.
• Knowledge in the area of Optical Thin Film Deposition and Characterization.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. All communication must be in English. The ability to operate computer equipment for word processing, trend analysis, and product testing is also required.
• Highly organized and able to juggle several projects at once. The position requires an individual who is able to meet deadlines and work in a fast paced environment.
• Having knowledge developing thin film recipes such as AR coatings, filters, and reflectors, a definite plus.

Product Manager

Requirements: MBA with under grad work in an engineering field of study


Denton Vacuum has an immediate opening for a highly motivated individual who would like the opportunity to take a product line and develop it in the market place. Denton Vacuum has a full line of microscopy products which are used in various industries such as Universities, research labs, semiconductor industries and with electron microscopes.

Denton Vacuum intends to grow this product in the market place with the ultimate goal of becoming the #1 supplier of these devices. This person will have a great deal of freedom to grow this business unit as they see fit as long as the decisions made can be backed up with sound reasoning.

This position requires both an engineering and business background in order to be successful in this endeavor. Therefore an MBA along with an undergrad degree in engineering would best suit this position.

This position will report to the Director of Sales and Marketing. Candidates must have the ability to work independently and have a proven track record of taking a product or idea from start to finish.

Director of Engineering

Responsible for directing all technical issues to assure customer satisfaction while achieving the financial goals and budgets for the business. Participates in definition of strategy and planning to achieve overall growth in business and profitability.


Responsibilities – Engineering / Technology

• Responsible for maintaining a full line of “standard” products that are state of the art, cost competitive, and in compliance with business quality standards
• Must have good knowledge of sputtering and evaporations technologies
• Modifies standard designs and generates custom designs to meet customer project specifications in a cost effective manner.
• Develops new products as required.
• Maintains and establishes new relationships with independent technology component suppliers to permit Denton to supply products meeting the most common as well as niche coating applications.
• Responsible for designing and accurately estimating the cost of products/systems meeting customer project specifications. Participates in pre-bid configuration and cost estimating meetings.
• Participates with sales personnel and interfaces directly with customers as necessary to promote Denton products and to achieve customer project specifications and satisfaction.
• Responsible for configuration control and documentation
• Assists in technical training of sales personnel
• Responsible for establishing, maintaining and motivating a cost effective staff of competent technical personnel.
• Responsible for design and release of products to Operations in accordance with master production schedule.

Sales Engineer

For more than four decades, Denton Vacuum has designed and built thousands of thin film vacuum deposition systems for a worldwide customer base. Major universities, leading government agencies and multinational corporations use Denton systems in a wide variety of applications from microscope sample preparation to coating large space optics. Denton has a reputation of working closely with its customers to help them develop innovative, high performance coating solutions. This dedication ensures outstanding film quality and system productivity.

This philosophy has propelled Denton to the forefront of system suppliers. There is currently an opening in our sales organization for an accomplished sales engineer. This position is based in our Moorestown, NJ office (approximately 40% overnight travel will be required). Principal responsibilities of the position include:

· Acquire, qualify, and follow up on sales leads
· Work directly with outside sales representatives to solidify sales prospects
· Organize and create sales proposals
· Travel for customer presentations and representative support
· Organize sold system documents
· Thoroughly introduce “sold” projects to the engineering and manufacturing groups within Denton
· Liaison between customers and engineering department
· Organize, travel and setup for trade shows
· Participate in sales literature generation and web site activities

Senior Field Service Engineer

Must be able to assist with factory testing and qualification of vacuum deposition systems; coordinate quality control objectives/activities to resolve production problems, maximize product reliability and minimize cost.

Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree, foreign equivalent, or equivalent combination of education / experience in Industrial Engineering. Two years experience operating, maintaining and trouble shooting high/ultra high vacuum pumping and deposition systems. Must have working background with PVD deposition technologies, such as sputtering, thermal evaporation, e-beam evaporation and PECVD. Must be able to travel 75% of the time (domestic and international).
