This achievement is representative of the on-going development of sputtering technology at Denton Vacuum. Previously, this type of arrangement would only be available in larger more complex and expensive systems, often beyond the users budget. By identifying how to configure this technology in a smaller chamber volume, the technology can be utilised in development and pre-production systems where Denton Vacuum is recognised as an industry leader.

Today, over 80 Discovery® units have been supplied by Denton Vacuum to customers in the USA, Europe and Asia. The shipment of the Discovery® system with the new multi-bladed radiation shutter will go to UCLA where the unit incorporates all of the latest enhancements developed over the lifetime of this product.
