Denton Vacuum Appoints New Staff to its Customer Application Development Center

March 25, 2013

Moorestown, NJ, March 25, 2013 – Denton Vacuum LLC, a leading supplier of production scale thin film technology systems, is pleased to announce its recent hire of Dr. Craig A. Outten, who has joined the Denton Vacuum team as a Research Development Scientist and will manage Denton Vacuum’s Customer Application Development Center (CADC). The CADC, located in Denton’s Moorestown, NJ, engineering and manufacturing facility, offers Denton’s customers a new set of powerful technology services, including process development, testing and validation of new process characterization tools, advanced training and process demonstrations.

Dr. Outten comes to Denton with over 15 years’ senior-level management experience in the semiconductor, optics and vacuum coating industries, with particular experience in the area of PVD and Plasma Enhanced Chemical Vapor Deposition (PECVD) technology.

Previously, Dr. Outten held senior positions with Intel Corporation as Senior Equipment Development Engineer, Advanced Refractory Technologies as Senior Engineer/Group Leader of Advanced Coating Division and Southwall Technologies as Director of Engineering.

Dr. Outten holds a PhD in nuclear engineering from the University of Michigan with an emphasis on Plasma Technology.

“Denton is driven to turn the barriers confronting our customers into technology breakthroughs,” said Dr. Outten. “Our Customer Application Development Center helps make that happen by giving customers everything from feasibility demonstrations all the way up to the development of leading edge films, new equipment designs, and novel process characterization tools.”

Rod Moore, Denton’s president and CEO, in welcoming Dr. Outten and his expertise, explains the advantage of CADC, stating that “Denton’s customers receive more than equipment from Denton—they get a true partner offering a new level of technology support. With CADC, customers can now develop, test and verify new production processes in a dedicated facility with our expert advice and the right characterization tools – taking as much time as needed without impacting their own plant operations, personnel and resources.”
