Senior Ion Beam Technical Support Engineer

Denton Vacuum is seeking a Senior level technical support engineer to support ion beam systems in research and production environments. Ideal candidate has 5 to 7 years hands on experience supporting and troubleshooting various market proven ion sources and ion beam platforms. As a first responder the ability to hit the ground running supporting leading edge enabling technology is essential.

Job Requirements

Denton Vacuum is seeking a Senior level technical support engineer to support ion beam systems in research and production environments. Ideal candidate has 5 to 7 years hands on experience supporting and troubleshooting various market proven ion sources and ion beam platforms. As a first responder the ability to hit the ground running supporting leading edge enabling technology is essential.

Essential Responsibilities include the following but not limited to:

  • Train Customers and Denton co-workers – service engineers first priority
  • Provide onsite and remote technical support (telephone, email, web-based service app, etc.)
  • Troubleshoot tools at Denton and/or in the field.
  • Establish parts rebuild and PM programs for Infinity Ion Beam Systems
  • Technical resource for Denton co-workers
  • Internal first responder to service calls
  • Interact with customers on a daily basis
  • Maintain and manage a Technical Support Schedule
  • Interact with Denton Service Contractors for technical and service-related documentation
  • Travel to customer’s facility for Installations, Upgrades, Service Contract Preventative Maintenance & On Demand service as required
  • Participates in on-site and in field system acceptance testing and training
  • Assist engineering with design, documentation and BOM as required
  • Coordinate directly with customers for travel schedule
  • Troubleshoot tools at Denton and/or in the field.
  • Assist in new system start up and training at Denton
  • Assist engineering with design, documentation and BOM as required

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Document and maintain technical service reports
  • Take prompt action to task in web-based customer service portal
  • Complete travel expense reports
  • Writing Preventative Maintenance procedures and defining spares lists
  • Documenting Best Known Methods & Best Practices
  • Apply technical knowledge and hands on expertise in resolving defects for Denton and/or Customer.
  • Support engineering request as required
  • Must have the physical ability to work and maneuver in tight spaces (including but not limited to laying on the floor to work on equipment)
  • Travel up to 50% year one – 25% per year going forward.
